Holiday Return Policy

The holidays are here, and we want to make returns as stress-free as possible! Here’s everything you need to know about our return policies during the holiday season:

Extended Holiday Return Window

Orders placed between November 1, 2024, and December 25, 2024 qualify for an extended return for store credit if the return request is made before January 5, 2025. Purchases made after December 25, 2024, are subject to our Standard Return Policy.

Domestic Returns

How long do I have to return an item?

  • You have 30 days from the delivery date to submit a return request for a refund or store credit. For holiday orders, you can still receive store credit if your return request falls outside this period, as long as it's within the extended holiday window referenced above.

What happens after I get a return label?

  • You’ll have 14 days to drop off your return with the carrier. If it’s not dropped off within this window, we won’t be able to issue a refund.

Are there any fees for returns?

  • Yes, domestic returns have a $10 restocking fee. Please note that original shipping costs are non-refundable.

International, FPO, APO, and DPO Returns

Can I return an item if I’m outside the U.S.?

  • Absolutely! You have 30 days from delivery to request a return. Once approved, you have 14 days to ship it back. For orders placed during the holiday period referenced above, the extended store credit policy applies.

Who covers the return shipping?

  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, and original shipping costs are non-refundable.

Sale & Promotional Pricing

What if I bought my items during a sale?

  • If you return the whole order, you’ll receive a refund based on the price you paid.
  • For partial returns, refunds are based on the current MSRP, minus any discounts applied.

Can I get a price adjustment if I return and rebuy during a sale?

  • We don’t offer price matching for promotional pricing on previously returned items.

Gift Returns

Can I return a gift?

  • Yes! Refunds can be issued either to the original payment method or as store credit. If you’re not the original purchaser, please have the order number handy.

Customized Products

Can I return customized items?

  • Customized products are final sale and cannot be returned for a refund or store credit.
  • If you’re returning a Capsule with a customized tile, we’ll deduct $6 for the tile from your refund.

Parcels must be unused and in new condition to qualify for a return.

The Capsules
How durable are the Capsules?

Our design allows for trusted durability, so your product can withstand everything from air pressure on your flight to drops in the shower – and each Capsule is magnetic so you can keep everything together, at all times. They can survive being run over by a car, so they’ll be just fine if they slip out of your hand in the tub.

Are these really 100% leakproof?

We designed a threaded twist-on cap that requires two and a half rotations to ensure your Capsule will never accidentally open in your bag.

As a second layer of protection, we added in an industrial seal to ensure not even flight air pressure would impact your product.

The third and final fortification is our double wall, which creates an extra-strength exterior so that no amount of tossing and bumping in your luggage can break it. Unlike silicone, our material is not porous, so there is no chance of product being absorbed into the walls.

Are they worth the investment?

The Capsules are an investment in both the planet and you – they were created to bring peace of mind, and to last you years.

At Cadence, we believe in designing for the future. This means making decisions that benefit our planet, like creating our innovative material blend for the Capsules. 20% recycled ocean-bound plastic is combined with leftover material from our manufacturing process so that we're not creating additional waste – meaning that each Capsule is comprised of 50% recycled material.

In addition to our materials, we designed the Capsules to be extremely durable. Did you know that the average person tosses 6 single-use travel-sized bottles per year (adding up to ~400 over a lifetime)? With Cadence, you buy once, and use forever. Plus, no breaking, leaking, or leaching.

Is the plastic safe for my products?

All Cadence Capsules are free from PFAs, BPAs, are non-leaching, UV-protective, and can be filled with any product – even your oils. Many silicone or other traditional travel-sized bottles are porous and can absorb your oils and serums into the material of the bottle, which we made sure was a non-starter here.

Are the Capsules TSA-compliant?

Yes, the original Capsules and the entire Capsule Flex System are TSA-compliant -- they can be brought via carry-on and in a checked bag. For reference, TSA’s limit is 3.4 fl oz. The original Capsule holds 0.56 oz and the Capsule Flex System holds 0.56 oz, 1.32 oz, and 2.75 oz. The amount is also indicated on the outside of every Capsule should TSA need to confirm.

On occasion, the magnets in The Capsules get flagged by security, so we recommend placing them in a separate tray (like you would with your laptop) so that it's easy for them to examine if needed.

What’s the difference between the Capsules and silicone bottles?

Silicones are great for other uses, but not for holding your personal care products. Because the material is porous, these bottles can leech your product into its material both compromising the efficacy and leaving you with less product, aren't UV protective, and often get crushed or leak in your bag.

The Capsules are chemically resistant, durable, BPA and PFA-free, non-leaching, and intentionally designed for durability. Will the magnets impact my technology?

No, they will not impact technology. Your credit cards, computers, and phones are safe next to the magnets in the Capsules.

The Parcel System
Materials

Transparent material: 45% recycled TPU with 42% virgin TPU.

  • Thicker and more durable than commonly used PVC which often has a plastic scent and short lifespan.
  • While closed, The Parcel’s surface is 88% fully clear, with 5 of the 6 faces of the bag being completely transparent and unobstructed.
  • The Parcel construction is welded, not sewn. This is advantageous for durability and leak-resistance.

Product Details

Construction:

There are no stitches, zips, buckles, or moving parts that can break. The Parcel has been carefully designed to minimize seams, nooks and crannies. It has been designed to maximize space, visibility, hygiene and simplicity of use.

Systemize:

Multiple Parcels can be positioned side-by-side and connect magnetically to one another, allowing the user to extend their system to support their organizational needs.

Opening:

The Parcel is able to be opened with a quick and easy hand gesture, no fumbling with snaps, buttons and zips.

Closure:

The magnets self-locate and shut the bag securely. There’s no left/right side of the bag, and no male/female snaps or buckles to work with - it’s truly omnidirectional.There are two ways to close The Parcel - “shut” the bag by overlapping the two sides for quick and easy opening/closing. “Lock” the bag by tucking one side into the other for more security.

Cleaning:

Hand wash with soap and water and a soft sponge or cloth. Run it under a running faucet. Turn it inside-out for easier cleaning.

How big are the Capsules?

The Small is approximately 1.05" H x 1.8" W x 2" L, roughly the size of a macaroon.

The Medium is approximately 2.1" H x 1.8" W x 2" L, about the size of an average lime.

The Large is approximately 3.7" H x 1.8" W x 2" L, slightly smaller than the average lemon.

The original Capsule is approximately 1.8" H x 1.5" W, slightly smaller than an average lime.

How much of my product will fit into the Capsule?

We often hear that the Capsules hold more than you'd think. To understand how much of a specific product can be stored in our different sizes, check out our Capacity Calculator.

How much does each Capsule weigh?

The Capsule Flex System is slightly weightier than what you might be used to because of our custom modular and magnetic design. Our design allows for trusted durability over a lifetime, so your product can withstand everything from air pressure on your flight to drops in the shower.

For context, an average lime weighs around 2 oz. Without product inside, the Small weighs 1.3 oz, the Medium 2.5 oz, the Large 4 oz, and the original Capsule 1.5 oz.

What’s the difference between Capsule sizes?
Is there a character limit for my Tiles?

1 line of text can have up to 12 characters, 2 lines of text can have up to 11 characters each. Spaces, punctuation marks, etc., are included in character count.

*Note: All standard labels are printed with title case, meaning each word you input will have an upper-case first letter unless you customize and format with lowercase. For example, “Face Moisturizer”.

What is a core color vs a limited edition color?

We love variety and optionality, so your System is tailor-made to you. Every once in a while, we explore a gradient or collection outside of our seven core colors or introduce a completely new shade. While our core colors are always available, a gradient or collection is considered a limited edition and won't always be around.

Will the Flex System work with my Original Capsules?

The Capsule Flex System is the next generation of Capsules. While each Flex size is designed to work together, our first generation Capsules are smaller in size and stature and you cannot interchange tiles between generations. While they may not sit perfectly flush with one another - both generations are hexagonal, magnetic, leakproof, and incredibly durable. So whether you are packing your original Capsules for every day use or prepping your Capsule Flex System for a long weekend trip, you can be sure that peace of mind will be with you every step of the way.

Can I use my Flex Tiles interchangeably with my Original Tiles?

The Flex Tiles are larger and feature more rounded corners than the original Tiles, so unfortunately, they cannot be swapped for one another.

Product Care
What is the best way to clean the Capsules?

We recommend washing your Capsules thoroughly before their first use and between uses.

Remove the Tile(s) and use a drop of your favorite gentle cleanser or mild soap to swirl with warm water while using your finger to remove excess product. Lay them out to air dry.

*For some harder-to-reach areas in The Original Capsule lid, we recommend using a q-tip without removing the o-ring.

How long can I leave my product in the Capsules?

The shelf life and expiration date of your products in the capsule remain the same, just follow the normal storage instructions for your Capsules. You can keep them on your bathroom shelf, in your bag, or in your car for an extended period of time as long as you keep your original product’s expiration date in mind. Exceptions to this include highly concentrated products.

How do I get my product out of the Capsule?

Most products can be scooped or poured out of the Capsules. We recommend pouring liquids, scooping creams, and placing a cotton pad on top and flipping it over for toner. We designed the Capsules with wide openings and rounded interiors so you can always get that last drop.

Does wear and tear affect the Capsules' functionality?

Just like your favorite reusable water bottle or a designer bag, your Capsules are prone to normal wear and tear after consistent daily use. Minor cosmetic damages like scuffs, scratches, or nicks will not impact how the Capsule stores your product. We recommend cleaning any sand or dirt from the top and outside of the cap to ensure that its leakproof capabilities are not compromised.

Can I put food and alcohol in them?

Companies can only be certified for either ocean-bound plastic OR food-safe, even if you qualify for both. We can't tell you that we recommend storing cheerios in your Capsules, but our team loves using them for storing mid-hike snacks. You decide what's best for you.

Products containing iron oxides

On a few rare occasions, we see product separation when the product being stored contains iron oxides (an ingredient with traces of heavy metals in it).

Iron oxides are used in makeup products to create various shades and hues for different skin tones. When those metals in this ingredient are placed near anything magnetic, like your Capsule, they can separate from the formula.

The best fix is to gently shake the Capsule to remix the iron oxides back into the rest of the formula. If this happens to your product, please reach out to us so we can continue to document the brand and product that is being stored.

Packaging
What is your packaging made from? Is it recyclable?

We designed our butter paper packaging with sustainability top of mind - we found the transparent packaging made from cellulose fibers to be the perfect way to show the Capsules while minimizing our packaging footprint.

The shipper is also made from recycled material - so please place it in the recycling bin when you're ready to discard it. The shipping label doesn't need to be removed – we made sure that all parts of our packaging can go in the same bin for peace of mind and ease.

Do you offer gift packaging?

Sustainability is one of the pillars of Cadence. From product to packaging, we take that seriously so our Capsules are packaged in as little material as possible and regular bundles are packaged together (aka less boxes). That said, we are big on aesthetics and the design of our packaging is beautiful as everything else we do.

Sustainability
How is this more sustainable if my product still comes in plastic?

It’s more sustainable for three reasons below.

1. The average person tosses 6 single-use travel-sized bottles a year (400 over their lifetime), and with Cadence, you buy once and use for years. Plus, you reduce your usage of hotel travel-sized products and eventually eliminate the need for them at all.
2. Cadence Capsules make it easier to buy everyday products in bulk – think shampoo, lotions, etc. – and store in the capsules. This can reduce your single-use plastic consumption significantly. Additionally, small pieces of plastic are more difficult for automated single stream recycling systems to process, so your single larger bottle has a better chance of actually getting recycled once you are finished with it.
3. In addition to reducing your consumption of single-use plastic, purchasing Cadence Capsules means you are also actively supporting the removal of plastic and clean up of beaches around the world. Read more about our partner, Envision Plastics, and their process.

Do I have to pay for returns? What is the return period?

We want you to feel confident and in control when using your Cadence, so we offer a 30-day return policy. We understand you may need time to experience your purchase.

If you decide to make a return, please email connect@keepyourcadence.com with your order number and "Return" in the subject line. Our team will assist you promptly.

Return Process:
- Once you initiate a return, you have 14 days to drop off your return with the shipping carrier.
- After we receive and inspect your returned item(s), we will process your refund within 7 business days. *Parcels must be in unused condition*
- Refunds will be issued to your original payment method and will not exceed the amount paid for the item(s).
- Please note: Original shipping costs are non-refundable, and domestic returns incur a $10 restocking fee.

International Returns:
- For international, FPO, APO, or DPO returns, customers are responsible for return shipping costs.

Final Sale Items:

What happens if I receive a damaged product?

We are happy to offer a 90 day guarantee on our products outside of our 30 day return policy. Product is considered damaged if an issue outside of normal wear and tear occurs within 90 days of delivery date. If you receive damaged product, please reach out to our team directly to help with a replacement. Please note damaged product will be issued in the form of a replacement only, no refunds.

What are final sale products?

Final sale items cannot be returned for refund or store credit.
