tiny bottles,
major problem.
the negative impact of the portable personal care industry has largely been ignored during conversations and efforts to reduce plastic consumption and waste. without significant change in both industry standards and our behavior as consumers, roughly 9 billion single-use plastic travel bottles and 6 billion silicone travel bottles will end up on beaches and in landfills in our lifetime – and that's in addition to what's there now. but together, we can create a movement that not only prevents plastic from entering landfills and beaches, but also cleans up existing waste.

it's not working out – it never has, and it never will. you're unreliable, a mess most of the time, and aren't in it for the long haul. we're keeping our future in mind, and we're moving on to better things.
our 3-part sustainability philosophy:
1) when design and individuality meet sustainability, large-scale change can happen. habits and routines take a lifetime to create – it's personal.

2) quality and durability are essential to creating something that won't get tossed in the trash. our priority is to make a product that is truly reusable, refillable, and highly durable.

3) cleaning up our planet should be an essential part of the process when creating something new. there's so much plastic material that already exists – we're recycling that and turning it into something new.
our transparent process
it starts with beach cleanups
our partner, Envision Plastics, collects plastic from beaches around the world by employing local communities. currently, 80% of plastic on the beaches ends up in the ocean. we're turning off the sink instead of trying to collect the water – we're not only recycling plastic from beaches, but preventing new plastic from ending up there as well.
made in Montana, USA
the processed material is sent to our facilities in Bozeman, Montana. our production partners, Plastic, Design & Manufacturing, Inc (PDM), are also investors in cadence. this relationship creates an aligned interest in our mission and the quality of our products.
always innovating
today, all of our capsules are made with 50% recycled material. our current blend is 20% recycled ocean-bound plastic and 30% reused scrap plastic. we are not at 100% yet -- but, it’s not for a lack of trying. we’ve talked to everyone from the helmet engineers at the NFL to internationally renowned plastic experts and learned that technology is not where we need it to be to create a product that is reusable, durable, and chemically resistant. to make sure we’re part of the long term solution, we’ve built out a team of engineers, manufacturers and advisors and together we are working to get there as quickly as possible.
no plastic left unused
manufacturing leaves lots of scrap material that then gets thrown away. instead, we’re reusing our own scrap by re-grinding it and re-integrating it into our material mix. all of this reprocessed material makes up 30% of a finished capsule.
responsible shipping
from shipping labels to boxes – all our packaging is recyclable. once you’ve received your capsules, you know what to do: toss everything they came in directly into the ♻ bin.
to note: the seed paper in your package is plantable and grows wildflowers. nowhere to plant it? no worries, it can go in the recycling bin, too.
