Teya
Kepila
An Infinite System: hand-blown glass, in conversation with the Capsule.
The Maker:
Teya Kepila
Teya begins with shape glass — chandeliers for opera houses, fixtures for old theaters in Chicago — before turning, in 2018, to the smaller and quieter scale of objects that move.
Her work has been collected by NYNR, the Standard, and a few private collectors; this one she keeps.
She names 3 lines of the Capsule as a container. She thinks of it as a vessel — and a vessel, in her work, is a thing you bend to someone else.
3 One-of-a-Kind Ceramic Mugs
Each piece was hand-thrown by the artist for one of you. All three are a gift to breakroom attendees.
